IntroductionInternational Mining, Construction, Petrochemical, Projects, and Engineering concernDescriptionLead Site Planner – Fixed Term Contract – NamibiaOur client is looking for an experienced Senior Site Planner with a strong EPCM background in SMP (Structural, Mechanical, and Piping) construction within mineral processing plants. This is a key leadership role for someone with a proven track record in managing complex, site-based projects. You will report to the Construction Manager and provide expert planning services to ensure timely and efficient project delivery. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain baseline schedules for all major project milestones. Monitor project progress via schedule updates, resource tracking, and verification of subcontractor work. Support preparation and assessment of delay claims and evaluate time impacts of compensation events. Produce dashboards, progress reports, and S-curves to communicate performance to management and clients. Track critical and near-critical paths, identify slippages, and recommend corrective actions. Lead a team of planners and coordinators to support field construction activities. Implement standard project controls including cost control, risk management, and reporting. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure design and technical information is integrated into schedules. Profile Qualifications & Experience BSc in Industrial Engineering (NQF 8) or equivalent. Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6; Forensic Schedule Analysis certification is a plus. 10+ years in project planning, scheduling, and project controls for mining, industrial, or infrastructure projects. Proven experience in delay analysis, earned value management (EVM), schedule integration, and contractor coordination. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; ability to interpret technical drawings and project scopes. Excellent organizational and time management capabilities. Demonstrated leadership, guiding planning teams and working effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients. Solid understanding of project controls, cost forecasting, schedule monitoring, and risk management. Strong communication skills, capable of preparing reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders.
