Role Purpose The purpose of the role is to lead a regional team of experienced insurance professionals to execute the short‑term insurance strategy of the MMH Group and drive sales in line with the company’s strategic objectives. Requirements FAIS Regulatory examination RE1 (Key Individual exam) FAIS Accreditation (RE/FSB recognized qualification) FAIS Regulatory exam RE5 (Reps) Class of Business training will be advantageous 18 CPD points NQF 7 Level: Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Diploma relevant to industry Leadership or Management studies/qualification advantageous Experience Financial sector experience (Banking, Insurance, Investments) 5–7 years managing managers who manage teams (essential) 7–10 years in a Sales environment (essential) Business process experience: new business, underwriting, claims Experience in both personal and commercial lines Knowledge Proficient in insurance industry Familiar with insurance products, processes, and service offerings Strong business acumen, decision‑making skills, and initiative Knowledge of advice processes Knowledge of distribution models Data interpretation Financial acumen Computer literacy Duties & Responsibilities Strategic Design, implement, and control the regional sales growth plan Set and implement operational strategy with Head of BDC/Tied agency sales Monitor and achieve strategic objectives and targets Track key performance areas of Sales functions Develop and execute best operating practices Increase sales revenue by surpassing targets and expanding into new markets Use management information to identify opportunities, risks, and efficiencies Identify, manage, and cultivate new business opportunities Ensure effective risk management and governance of the sales process Mobiliser/Active People Management Manage the team’s activity and productivity Create and manage a lead funnel with sales managers Recruit and interview “bar raising” BDCs/tied agents and Sales Managers Provide regular feedback and coaching Mobilize and motivate BDC/Tied agents and sales managers Lead the team effectively Improve sales processes for efficiency Conduct and record performance reviews Support EE‑focused recruitment and staff replacement Encourage and support training and development Identify opportunities for staff development and coaching Driver of High‑Performance Culture Develop and execute sustainable business plans Set annual, quarterly, and monthly sales goals for each BDC/SM Drive growth in alignment with strategic objectives Inspire team spirit and recognition Ensure achievement of sales targets Learning and Development Catalyst Support continuous learning and knowledge distribution Integrate new content and product changes into the region Analyze sales data for trends and improvement Ensure team members complete required compliance exams on time Connection Drive consistent marketing activities to increase regional leads Drive effective communication and engagement Promote sound financial and corporate governance Encourage innovation, change agility, and collaboration Build and maintain client and stakeholder relationships Contribute to competitive edge through networking and benchmarking Competencies Lead change and innovation Promote diversity and inclusiveness Communicate clear business development targets Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement Demonstrate impact and influence Develop talent within the organization Mitigate potential threats to objectives Prioritize customer‑centricity Flexibility, resilience, personal motivation, accountability, purposeful collaboration, capability growth Seniority Level Director Employment Type Full‑time Job Function Sales and Business Development Locations Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa Sandton, Gauteng, South Africa #J-18808-Ljbffr
