Business Development & Sales Executive – Steel Products (South Africa & Sub-Saharan Africa) Role Purpose To drive business growth, expand market presence, and strengthen customer relationships for steel products across South Africa and the broader Sub-Saharan Africa region. Key Responsibilities Market Development & Sales Conduct market research to identify new selling opportunities and assess customer needs within the steel industry. Develop, establish, and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively sourcing new customers across the region. Conduct client visits and business trips to enhance customer engagement and identify new business opportunities. Lead price negotiations and discussion of relevant sales conditions. Optimize import and export operations to support efficient sales activities. Commercial & Credit Management Monitor and manage customer credit limits, ensuring timely collections and minimal financial risk. Prepare, review, and process sales-related documentation, including invoices, packing lists, sales confirmations, purchase orders, and other required documents. Internal Collaboration Work closely with regional and global teams, including colleagues in Nairobi, Düsseldorf, and Tokyo Headquarters, to align strategies and achieve shared business objectives. Coordinate with group companies and internal departments to support end-to-end sales processes. Personal Attributes Positive, proactive, patient, and hardworking attitude. Strong competitiveness, flexibility, and resilience required for success in international steel trading. Professional Requirements Multiple years of sales experience in the steel industry beneficial.
