Technical Manager Reports To: Regional Technical Director Business Unit: Excellence Facilities Management About The Role Responsible for planning, organising, and directing the activities of the assigned buildings or client premises in the portfolio. Oversees service delivery to client, procures services, handles third‑party service contracts, and directs maintenance procedures. Ensures all buildings, grounds, and equipment are well maintained and in optimal working condition. Implements departmental policies and procedures, ensures operations comply with health and safety regulations. Keeps senior management well informed of area activities and significant problems. Trains, directs, and appraises assigned personnel. What You Will Be Doing Assume responsibility for planning, development, and implementation of effective facilities and operations management policies, procedures, and planning for the specific client. Assist senior management in developing short‑ and long‑term goals and plans. Assist with long‑term budget projections. Execute established operational goals and ensure corporate‑wide plans are supported. Assist in developing policies and procedures for client operations; conduct periodic reviews to ensure maximum efficiency. Coordinate and manage third‑party service providers and vendors with daily interaction. Respond to emergency call‑outs to ensure optimal uptime for the client. Day‑to‑day running and control of technical facilities and operations, high‑level equipment, and all technical equipment, machinery and client facilities. Verify invoices for payments within 5 working days after admin approval. Calculate pass‑through cost to client. Conduct periodic inspections of facilities per SLA, assess problems and implement improvements. Coordinate and direct preventive maintenance procedures. Ensure client operations comply with established procedures, policies, regulations and codes. Develop and implement safety directives. What You Will Bring Education / Certification Matric. Technical qualification in Refrigeration/Electrical/Mechanical or HVAC (required). Additional training in maintenance and client management preferred. Experience Five or more years of related experience, with at least two years of supervisory experience. Preferably previous practical Refrigeration/HVAC/Electrical experience. Excellent understanding of client management procedures. Knowledge of budgeting, service contracts, and leasing agreements. Skills / Abilities Computer literate; maintenance systems; MS Office; CAFM system experience. Excellent leadership and organizational abilities. Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Fluent in English; Afrikaans; Portuguese an advantage. Non‑negotiable Requirements Refrigeration/HVAC/Electrical qualification and experience. Must be able to work weekends. Sober habits. No criminal record and clean ITC. Driver’s license (minimum code EA). No previous dismissals. Honesty.
