St Charles College, founded in 1875, is an independent Christian boys’ College situated in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, catering for day boys from Grade 000 to Matric with boarders from Grade 4 upwards. The College has written the University of Cambridge IGCSE, AS Level and A Level Examinations since 2002. Prep Sports Programme Coordinator We are seeking an individual who will provide efficient administrative and operational support to the sports department, ensuring the smooth delivery of all school sports programmes, fixtures, and activities. If you are able to work in a team-focused environment within an independent, all-boys school, and are aligned with the values of our College, this position offers an opportunity to genuinely influence the lives of generations of boys of the College. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Support with fixture scheduling, team lists, and transport arrangements. Manage communication with parents, staff, and other schools regarding fixtures. Assist with logistics for tours, festivals, and sports events. Maintain accurate sports records, databases, and team sheets. Assist with termly calendars, results tracking, and noticeboard updates. Help with uniform and equipment inventories and ordering. Assist with sport staff contracts, registers and payments. Supervise pupils where appropriate, ensuring safety and discipline standards. Liaise with the Head of Prep Sport and sports staff daily. Communicate effectively with parents, pupils, and opposing schools. Represent the school positively at all sporting functions. Be able to work within the Christian values and mission of the College. The ideal candidate will have: A relevant Tertiary Qualification. At least 2 to 5 years of administration experience. A valid driver’s license. Personal Qualities Organised and detail-oriented. Approachable, reliable, and calm under pressure. Strong communicator (written and verbal Enjoys working with children and sports staff. Takes initiative and anticipates needs.
