About the Role

Our client is seeking a responsible and engaging Aftercare Facilitator to join their team in Bloemfontein . This role focuses on providing a safe, supervised, and enriching environment for school-aged children after regular school hours. You will be responsible for overseeing homework, organizing recreational activities, and ensuring the general well-being of the children. The ideal candidate is patient, energetic, and skilled at managing groups of children, fostering a positive atmosphere where they can relax, learn, and play after their school day.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise school-aged children during aftercare hours, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Assist children with homework and provide academic support as needed.
• Organize and lead recreational activities , games, and crafts.
• Maintain a structured yet fun environment that caters to the needs of children of various ages.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
• Ensure the aftercare facility is kept clean, tidy, and well-organized.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an aftercare or youth program setting.
• Good understanding of child behavior and development for this age group.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to engage children in positive activities and manage group dynamics effectively.
• Patience, reliability, and a genuine passion for working with children.
• First Aid or CPR certification is advantageous.
