Operations Manager

Job Purpose:

RTT Road invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Operations Manager position based in Newcastle. The role is responsible for managing RTT operations, monitoring and controlling branch operations through intelligent planning in line with RTT’s Service Level Agreement. To deliver efficient and cost-effective functionality and sustained profitability of the business operation. To ensure the smooth and optimum running / use of company infrastructure.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Organizational effectiveness/Resource management:

• Determines the required personnel.
• Determines the required fleet compliment.
• Ensures that discipline is maintained in the branch.
• Evaluates the performance of all personnel.
• Train personnel in roles and responsibilities.
• Maintains the appropriate records.
• Develops key personnel to function effectively and ensures adequate back-up and succession planning.

Business Processes:

• Ensures compliance with the MCC requirements for SA Good Wholesaling Practice for Wholesalers as it applies to the distribution.
• Ensures compliance with RTT company policies and procedures for product transit or delivery.
• Assists with the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Complies with the requirements of the RTT Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) systems.

• Direct Loads, optimises and manages the delivery, returns and customer services processes.

• Cage Exception report management
• Delivery due date management
• Launch delivery management
• PDA delivery exception management
• All SOP relating to Drivers

Dispatch:

• Managing trans-shipments
• Container ordering and placement
• Managing outgoing container inspections
• Manage container departure times
• Managing outgoing container problem reports
• Managing all SOP relating to the physical loading of containers and dispatching outbound containers
• Managing and training loading checkers and supervisors

Collection Management:

• Collection report management
• Missed collection management

Driver De-briefing:

• Outstanding POD Management
• POD Quality Management
• IBT processing and dispatch management
• All SOP relating to driver de-briefing and pod accepting
• Returns management
• Loaded not assigned management / Assigned not loaded management
• De-briefer license management
• Endorse POD management

 

Job-Related Requirements: 

Minimum:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience supervising / managing RTT operations
• Must have experience and knowledge in managing RTT operational systems
• Must be willing to work night shift, weekends and Public Holidays
• SLE system knowledge
• Experience with customer service software, databases and CRM tools
• Must have the capability to plan, organise, control and perform under pressure

• Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements (In the case of distributing pharmaceutical products, South African Good Wholesaling Practice for Wholesalers).
• Must have managerial / leadership skills
• Ability to anticipate and solve problems
