A truck workshop in Ermelo, is seeking a skilled and motivated TRUCK WORKSHOP FOREMAN (SUPERVISOR) to join their team. The ideal candidate will be diesel trade tested, have previous industry experience, and thrive in a dealership workshop environment. Holding a Code 14 licence will be a distinct advantage.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the workshop.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of mechanics and technicians.
  • Ensure that all repair and maintenance work is carried out to the highest standards.
  • Provide a competent technical, diagnostic and repair / service.
  • Allocate jobs to workshop staff based on their skills and workload.
  • Monitor and maintain workshop equipment and tools.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work carried out and parts used.
  • Liaise with customers to provide updates on work progress and address any concerns.
  • Train and mentor workshop staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical issues.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Diesel trade tested with a valid certification.
  • Proven experience in a similar supervisory role within the commercial truck industry.
  • Previous experience in a dealership workshop environment is essential.
  • Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines and commercial truck systems.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and workshop management software.
  • Valid Code 14 licence is an advantage.
  • Ermelo residency required.
