Their Interior Design department fosters creativity, technical expertise, and professional readiness, providing students with an environment where design ideas can flourish and evolve.The Role: Interior Design LecturerAs an Interior Design Lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching, mentoring, and inspiring students in design theory, technical skills, and creative application. This role combines academic contribution, research, and student development, with opportunities to shape the curriculum and drive innovative teaching approaches that meet industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesMinimum 2+ years of relevant industry experience in interior designDesign and deliver engaging modules aligned with SAQA and CHE standardsTeach and integrate practical and digital tools, including AutoCAD and Revit (Adobe Suite an advantage)Guide student learning through lectures, tutorials, mentorship, and professional coachingContribute to curriculum planning, departmental strategy, and accreditation processesDrive research, consultancy, and course innovation within the Interior Design disciplineEngage with industry professionals, moderators, and external networks to strengthen programme relevanceSupport and monitor student performance, providing constructive feedback and fostering professional growthAbout YouRelevant diploma or degree in Interior Design from an accredited institutionProficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (Adobe Suite is a plus)Previous teaching, lecturing, or training experience highly advantageousExcellent communication skills in English and AfrikaansStrong interpersonal and rapport-building skills with a people-first approachEffective time management, organisation, and the ability to handle challenges under pressurePassionate about design education, innovation, and contributing to student succes
