Diesel Mechanic â Construction Machinery

Our client, a well-established construction company involved in major building and civil projects, is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs of all construction plant and machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on diesel-powered construction machinery (excavators, TLBs, graders, rollers, tipper trucks, generators, etc.)Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics, and mechanical assessmentsEnsure all equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant with company and safety standardsKeep detailed records of work performed, parts used, and equipment conditionRespond to breakdowns on-site and carry out urgent repairs efficientlyWork closely with site management and plant operators to identify mechanical issuesMaintain workshop tools, equipment, and inventory levelsAdhere strictly to safety procedures and occupational health regulations Minimum RequirementsQualified Diesel Mechanic (Trade Test essential)35 years experience working with construction plant and heavy diesel machineryStrong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skillsValid drivers licence (Code 8; PDP advantageous)Ability to work independently and under pressureWillingness to attend to breakdowns on sites across the region What We Offer Competitive market-related salaryOpportunity to work with a reputable contractorCareer stability with long-term project pipelineSupportive and safety-driven work environment
