Established in 1943 and based in Durbanville, Cape Town, Kallos Group procures and distributes fresh fruit from growers to clients on a global scale. The majority of their exports go to the critical markets in Africa, but they also distribute to Europe, Russia, Asia, Middle & Near East as well as selected Far East destinations.The above-mentioned position is currently available for an energetic person to join the company’s Commercial Department.The incumbent will negotiate with logistics service providers to deliver the most cost-effective and value-adding services to the Commercial team. The role involves managing a complex supply chain that meets international quality standards and adheres to tight schedules. It is pivotal in maintaining the company’s reputation as a reliable exporter of high-quality fruit, driving profitability for stakeholders, and fostering competitiveness in global markets.Key Performance Areas:Manage and maintain all relationships with relevant logistics service providersRegularly update and benchmark all Freight/Transport and FOB ratesManage all claims as per protocolDevelop and maintain SOPs for container tracking and deliveriesManage and oversee all administrative functions of the Commercial AssistantsAct as link between Commercial Assistants and Finance DepartmentManage and report on supply chain volume and statistics Requirements:Minimum MatricRelevant Logistics Degree/Diploma will strengthen the applicationPrevious experience (3 years) in the fruit export industryPrevious experience (5 years) in logistics, freight forwarding and claims proceduresPrevious experience in management of a teamExcellent planning and organisational skillsAdvanced computer skills (MS Office; QX – advantageous)Accuracy and attention to detailNumerical skillsExcellent communication (English & Afrikaans) and interpersonal skills with people on all levelsAbility to function well under pressure and prioritise tasksThe company offers market related remuneration and benefits, based on the successful applicant’s experience and qualifications.
