Job Title: Site AgentLocation: Cape TownSalary: R24,000 - R28,000 CTCDepartment: OperationsReports to: Project ManagerEmployment Type: ContractStart Date: ASAPPurpose of the RoleThe Site Agent is responsible for overseeing the execution of on-site project activities. This includes ensuring quality, productivity, and compliance with safety standards. The role is fully site-based on a single project and involves managing subcontractors, liaising with the client, and maintaining daily operational control.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain daily on-site presence to supervise activities and ensure alignment with project plansAttend planning meetings and liaise with the project manager and subcontractor supervisorsAllocate tasks, check resource availability, and oversee tools and material usageEnsure all work adheres to the programme, with recovery plans for any delaysMaintain consistent communication with the main contractor and Cross Fire ManagementReport on site issues, incidents, and drawing changes within 24 hoursIssue and manage site instructions in line with the project manager's approvalsComplete and submit daily diaries tracking labour, productivity, and deviationsManage and organise all project-related documentation and drawing registersEnforce on-site safety compliance and participate in safety audits and incident investigationsControl site cleanliness, material storage, and establish area-based material allocationsConduct weekly snag list reviews and manage pressure test sign-offsCore CompetenciesLeadershipPlanning and organisationCollaboration and communicationRisk managementProject execution and quality controlDocument and process managementRequirements3-5 years of experience in a site management or supervisory role within construction or fire protectionStrong understanding of project lifecycle and site management protocolsExperience managing subcontractor performance and coordinating directly with clientsExcellent written and verbal communicationProficient in daily reporting, documentation, and interpretation of construction drawingsOwn reliable transport and a valid driver's licenseAdditional NotesThe Site Agent is expected to be available for weekend or overtime work when required. A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently on-site is essential. This is a hands-on, high-accountability role, ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, on-site environments.
