The successful candidate MUST BE ABLE TO SPEAK A HIGH DEGREE OF AFRIKAANS and will oversee all activities relating to concrete preparation, placement, installation, finishing and curing, while considering safe working procedures in line with the OHS Act & Regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • BE ABLE TO SPEAK AFRIKAANS
  • Oversee all activities relating to concrete preparation, placement, installation, finishing and curing.
  • Manage all challenges that have potential to affect project and quality completion.
  • Consulting drawings and plans to ensure all concrete structures are accurately placed and installed.
  • Managing resources effectively and delegate tasks to concrete laborers while providing overall guidance.
  • Inspection of all concrete works post removing the formwork and shoring and instruct the concrete laborers to correct any possible defects and concrete roughness.
  • All other relevant Concrete Foreman tasks, as required from time to time.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • The ability to communicate in both English & Afrikaans is essential
  • Must be able to speak Afrikaans - do not apply if you are not able to speak Afrikaans
  • National Senior Certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience as Concrete Foreman, including waterproof and off-shutter concrete works.
  • Reservoir construction experience will be advantageous.
  • The ability to interpret drawings and plans.
  • Excellent management & leadership skills.
  • Experience in working independently.
  • Valid drivers' license.
  • Excellent communicator
  • The ability to manage resources effectively.
  • Production and deadline driven.
  • Details oriented.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Diligent.
  • Positive team player.
  • Physically fit for hard labour.
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
