CO2 Welder

Job Title: CO2 WelderLocation: JHB - BrakpanSeniority Level: Mid Career (2-4 yrs exp)Job Purpose:The Trade Test Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding tasks to support the fabrication, construction, and repair of metal structures and components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. The welder must pass a trade test to demonstrate technical proficiency and adherence to safety and quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Perform welding tasks using various methods such as MIG, TIG, Stick (SMAW), and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW).Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and welding procedures.Conduct pre-weld preparation and post-weld finishing operations.Inspect welds for quality and accuracy, ensuring they meet industry and company standards.Operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently.Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.Requirements:Education & Qualifications:Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (preferred but not always mandatory).Certified Trade Test Welder (Red Seal or equivalent accreditation).Experience:Minimum of 3-5 years of practical welding experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.Skills & Competencies:Proficiency in multiple welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, FCAW).Strong attention to detail and quality control.Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.Ability to work independently or as part of a team.Additional Requirements:Willingness to undergo and pass a practical welding trade test.Flexibility to work overtime or shifts if required.PPE compliance and knowledge of welding safety equipment.
