What We Are Looking For

  • We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Email Marketing Intern to support our email marketing efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, CRM management and customer engagement strategies. The ideal candidate is creative, data-driven and eager to learn about the eCommerce landscape. You will work closely with our digital marketing and CRM teams to execute email campaigns, analyse performance and contribute to the success of our clients' brands.

Key Responsibilities

Email Marketing Support:

  • Assist in the creation, scheduling and execution of email marketing campaigns.
  • Help conceptualise, draft, and edit engaging email content.
  • Support in creating wireframes for email newsletters and automation sequences.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure visually appealing and brand-aligned emails.
  • Assist in sourcing assets, references, and creatives for email campaigns.

Performance & Data Analysis:

  • Monitor and report on email campaign performance, engagement rates and database growth.
  • Assist in analysing key metrics to provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Support the team in A/B testing subject lines, content and design to optimise results.
  • Research email marketing best practices and industry trends to keep strategies competitive.

Database & CRM Management:

  • Assist in maintaining and segmenting the email database for targeted communication.
  • Help ensure compliance with POPIA and data protection regulations.
  • Test and troubleshoot email automation workflows to ensure seamless customer journeys.
  • Work with the CRM platform's support team to address any technical issues.

General Marketing & Collaboration:

  • Support the marketing team in other digital initiatives as needed.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop new email strategies and campaigns.
  • Assist in competitor research and market trend analysis to enhance eComplete's offerings.

Candidate Requirements

  • Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Passionate about digital marketing and eager to gain hands-on experience in email marketing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset with a basic understanding of data-driven marketing strategies.
  • Creative thinker with an eye for design and brand alignment.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides); familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot) is a plus but not a requirement.
