Our client, a leader in their field, is looking for a dynamic Head of Finance to join their team.

Reporting to the CFO, responsibilities include:

Financial Leadership:

  • Providing strategic financial leadership and direction to the finance team
  • Developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and efficiency
  • Collaborating with senior management to develop and execute the company''s financial strategy

Accounts Payable:

  • Overseeing the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
  • Implementing and maintaining effective vendor management practices
  • Monitoring and managing cash flow to optimise working capital

Accounts Receivable:

  • Managing the accounts receivable function, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and collections
  • Developing and implementing credit policies and procedures to minimise bad debt
  • Monitoring and reporting on accounts receivable aging and performance

Revenue Management:

  • Overseeing revenue recognition processes and ensuring compliance with accounting standards
  • Analysing revenue trends and providing insights to support business decision-making
  • Collaborating with commercial and marketing teams to standardise reporting

Stock Management:

  • Overseeing inventory management and control processes
  • Ensuring accurate and timely recording of stock movements and valuations
  • Monitoring stock levels and optimising inventory turnover

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Preparing and presenting financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Taking full ownership of annual and interim financial audits (internal and external)
  • Working closely with FP&A team to complete the annual budget cycle
  • Identifying and executing automation opportunities
  • Providing insights and recommendations to support business decision-making
  • Ensuring full statutory compliance relating to indirect company taxes
  • Being responsible for the integrity of all financial records

Qualifications and Experience:

  • CA (SA) with 5+ years'' experience in managing a finance team
  • Experience in e-commerce or retail industry is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations
  • Strong general financial background with proven skills in financial accounting, budgeting and reporting, treasury, and cash flow management
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
