Our client is looking for a Packing Supervisor to join their team. The Packing Supervisor would have to ensure that all aspects of Production processes and the Shift team are efficiently and effectively supervised in order to meet production objectives from a quantity and quality perspective within the appropriate time scales and following the agreed standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Verifying the ready to pack totals at the beginning and end of each shift .

  • Timeous reporting of faults or maintenance required.

  • Ensure that labels are printed, checked and available on time.

  • Responsible for line clearances and follow up on metal checks.

  • Ensure that all inserts issued to the shifts are checked and verified as per the insert procedures â–ª Ensure all relevant work orders are closed timeously and production reports are completed are as per management requirements.

  • Ensure that all documents are completed and verified on IComply.

  • Adherence to ISO22000 standards.

  • Understanding of Allergens.

  • Ensuring that employees are motivated to perform their duties and managed accordingly â–ª Use initiative and make suggestions for improvements.

  • Ensuring employees have the appropriate protective clothing.

  • Ensuring that the areas within the production unit are maintained and cleaned on an on-going basis to ensure that once the next shift commences the factory floor and area of work is at an acceptable standard from a health, safety and housekeeping perspective.

Key Skills:

  • Experience in a similar role in FMCG.

  • Understanding of the production functions and processes.

  • Experience with supervising people.

  • Production functions and processes.

  • Health & Safety.

  • Minimum of 5 years production experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years Supervisory experience.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12.

  • Relevant NQF5 Technical Qualification or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar environment.
