Vehicle Logistics Engineer

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBResponsible for planning and coordinating vehicle logistics operations, engineering logistics processes and ensuring fewer company resources are utilised while increasing profitability by using innovative methods to increase efficiency in areas such as transportation costs and time. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:Vehicle Logistics Supply Chain Engineering – managing the transportation of vehicles to different dealers (export & import)Project ManagementTrack and ensure that the applicable Key Performance Indicator targets are achievedManage implementation of client’s tender outcomes in client’s logistics environment as well as the RFI/RFQ processes.Conduct quarterly performance reviews of client’s appointed suppliers and service providers and ensuring the KPIs are achievedProvide support on client’s logistics budgeting processCalculate and supply accurate costings for all elements of the supply chain for normal and ad-hoc requestsSeek innovative cost saving solutions to meet annual cost reduction targets and recommend to clientSupport client’s regional logistics projects (i.e. New Vehicle Introduction)Provide support on operational supply chain activitiesIdentify, implement, and manage new projects, subject to the prior written approval of clientsDesign and implement, subject to client’s prior written approval, new supply chain processesRe-engineer clients supply chain flows to improve time, cost, and qualityEnsure that all office equipment is properly maintained, and office area is clean and presentableEnsure department adheres to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001. Education/Requirements:Grade 12 (or equivalent) with English fluency (Written and spoken)Degree/Higher Diploma in Systems/Industrial Engineering/Similar3 years industry or working experience.Understanding of the Vehicle supply chain environment advantageousMicrosoft Project knowledge and experienceMS Office spreadsheets and graphics – strong excel skills.
