Our client is seeking a highly motivated Accountant with specific operational commercial experience to join their team, based in Johannesburg.

Successful candidate will be responsible for a portfolio of buildings of which will encompass property financials analysis, performance management, budgets, forecasts, operations (leasing & facilities).

Minimum Requirements:-

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 3 years Commercial Property experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • SAGE experience
  • MDA experience

Duties:-

  • Collate information to analyse income and expenses of the properties and provide comments against budgets
  • Ensure accruals are raised where some income and expense items are outstanding or not recorded accordingly
  • Identify any misallocations in the ledger and ensure corrections are processed and timeously
  • Review recoveries (municipals and other expenses) - where there are significant over or under recoveries, take corrective measures
  • Track all municipal queries and highlight impact on the income statement and balance sheet once resolved.
  • Ensure all rentals being billed are in accordance with leases and expenses paid are in accordance with signed SLA’s
  • Analyse property performance for decision making on improving Property Net Operating Income
  • Develop, implement and manage property budgets and forecasts working with the Leasing and Facilities teams
  • Work with Leasing and Facilities teams in managing the property budgets
  • Provide valuable input in preparation of management accounts, quarterly reports and annual financial statements
  • Assist with Debtors & Creditors Management
  • Assist the Facilities team in managing the property asset registers and managing consumables stock
  • Preparing underlying working papers for external audit purposes
  • Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies
  • Undertake any other tasks as assigned by management
