Their radiology team plays a critical role in ensuring precise, safe, and efficient imaging for patient health insights.Role Summary:The Radiological Technologist is responsible for conducting high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures including mammography, CT scans, X-rays, and ultrasound. The ideal candidate combines technical precision with warm patient interaction and a strong commitment to radiation safety and regulatory compliance.Key Responsibilities:Perform mammography using Fujifilm AMULET Innovality (EQ), including DBT and CEDMConduct CT scans using systems like Fujifilm FCT iStream, CSL, and ECG Ivy7800Operate general diagnostic imaging equipment for X-ray and ultrasound proceduresPrepare patients, explain procedures, and administer contrast media as neededEnsure radiation safety and compliance with South Africas Hazardous Substances ActMaintain and calibrate imaging equipment per daily QA protocolsAccurately record patient information and imaging data in PACS/RIS systemsCollaborate with radiologists, nurses, and guest services to ensure seamless workflowsParticipate in internal quality assurance programs to maintain high imaging standardsStay current with CPD activities to maintain registration and skill advancementQualifications:Bachelor of Radiography (Diagnostic) or National Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography from an HPCSA-accredited institutionAdditional training in mammography or CT imaging advantageousFull registration with the HPCSA as a Diagnostic RadiographerValid HPCSA annual practising certificateExperience:1-3 years of post-qualification experience in diagnostic radiographyHands-on experience with mammography (DBT and CEDM) and CT scan proceduresFamiliarity with Fujifilm imaging systems or equivalent high-end diagnostic platformsExperience in private healthcare or high-volume diagnostic settings preferredSkills:Expertise in operating mammography, CT, and general imaging equipmentProficiency with PACS and Radiology Information SystemsStrong verbal communication and patient engagement skillsAttention to detail in image acquisition, patient positioning, and data entryCollaborative mindset for working across clinical and technical teamsCore Competencies:Technical expertise in advanced imaging platformsGuest-centric care with compassion and professionalismStrong commitment to radiation safety protocolsCultural sensitivity and respect in patient interactionsAdaptability in adopting digital systems and evolving technologiesContinuous learning attitude for maintaining up-to-date knowledge and complianceRegulatory & Compliance Requirements:Maintain active HPCSA registration and comply with its Scope of Practice and EthicsComply with POPIA for handling patient imaging dataAdhere to radiation safety standards per Department of Health protocolsParticipate in ongoing CPD as required by HPCSASupport departmental quality control and audit processesWorking Conditions:On-site role within a diagnostic imaging facilityRequires extended periods operating imaging equipmentHigh level of patient interaction and communicationProfessional appearance and adherence to hygiene standards requiredRadiation exposure managed through strict safety protocolsSalary Range (Entry-Level, 02 Years Post-Qualification):R25,000 - R35,000/month (R300,000 - R420,000/year)
