KEY FUNCTIONS:
Leadership - Business
  • Proactively, communicates, delegates and executes assigned duties contributing to own area and department performance. Actively and effectively contributes to Customer Service as of utmost importance, whilst striving for continuous improvement. Product knowledge will be beneficial.
Leadership - Self
  • Sets clear personal objectives and responsibilities, takes accountability appropriately for own area. Promotes a culture of Teamwork and encourages learning and sharing of skills & knowledge.
Planning & Monitoring
  • Primarily focused on day-to-day operations following own action plan and that of the team. Provides complete job costing as well as job quotations. Provides reliable 'immediate' action steps for meeting daily targets. Is able to carry out the relevant wear check analysis. Comprehensive Warranty claim reporting to be done whereas and when required.
Customer Relationships
  • Can assist with Trade-in valuations. Offers Product Support where necessary. Is able to suggest solutions primarily within customer requirements area. Listens and understands the perspective of others, accommodates expectations and objections to maintain relationships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure adequate maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials in the Service Area.
  • Encourage knowledge transfer and facilitate the training and development of team members in the department, by providing feedback and coaching to support improvements in their job performance.
  • Provide advice and technical assistance to team members.
  • Monitor workflow to anticipate impact of delays due to team members being absent for leave days, holidays or sickness.
  • Review customers service orders and inspect the quality of a technician work before the release of machine, goods, where applicable.
  • Review work orders to ensure that all actions have been documented according to Service Workshop policies and procedures.
  • Plan and adjust the workloads of department personnel to match their skills and abilities.
  • Coordinate with sales department and or branch manager to arrange for delivery of equipment to customers.
  • Ensure that technicians are aware of all company procedures.
  • Facilitate the orientation of new team members in collaboration with the Workshop Supervisor by familiarizing them with work surroundings, explaining work hours, procedures, use of equipment and job expectations and ensure that new team members understand their respective duties.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Technical qualification
  • Workshop Certificate/Diploma or Trade Certificate (preferable)
  • 3 5 years relevant experience in Workshop supervision
  • Technical background and competence in understanding breakdowns.
  • Knowledge of the Industry & Earthmoving, Construction and Mining Equipment product advantageous
  • Computer Literacy
