Assistant Room Service Manager

We are seeking a professional and experienced Assistant Hotel Room Service Manager to support the Room Service Manager in overseeing all aspects of in-room dining operations. This role ensures that guest orders are delivered promptly, accurately, and to the highest standard of quality, while maintaining operational efficiency and exceptional guest experiences.Critical Criteria (Requirements)Minimum 35 years experience in hotel Room Service or Food & Beverage operations in a 4/5-star propertyPrevious supervisory or assistant management experience in room service, F&B, or luxury hotel dining preferredKnowledge of hotel PMS (Opera or similar) and room service order management systemsHospitality qualification or diploma advantageousExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to remain calm under pressure and resolve guest issues efficientlyStrong organizational, planning, and operational management abilitiesSouth African citizen with a valid IDFlexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidaysKey Competenciesð¹ Guest-Centric Leadership Ensures smooth, luxury-standard service across all in-room dining operationsð¹ Operational Precision Monitors workflows, resolves issues, and maintains service excellenceð¹ Team Management Supervises, motivates, and develops Room Service attendants and staffð¹ Problem Solving & Decision Making Handles operational challenges and guest concerns effectivelyð¹ Collaboration & Communication Coordinates with kitchen, housekeeping, and management teams for seamless serviceDuties & ResponsibilitiesAssist the Room Service Manager in overseeing daily room service operations and schedulesEnsure prompt, accurate, and professional delivery of in-room dining ordersSupervise, mentor, and support room service staff, maintaining high service standardsAddress and resolve guest complaints or special requests promptly and professionallyCoordinate with kitchen, F&B, and housekeeping departments to ensure smooth operationsMonitor service delivery, adherence to SOPs, and support continuous improvement initiativesOversee order accuracy, presentation, and portion control to maintain brand standardsAssist with training, coaching, and development of room service team membersMaintain health, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with hotel policies and regulationsLive and promote the hotels values of Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Accountability, Passion, and IntegrityImportant Application NotesMust hold a valid South African IDEnsure your CV is 100% updatedRecruitment aligns with the companys Employment Equity Plan
