Qualifications:

Matric/Grade 12 certificate essential.
Tertiary qualification in Finance field will be advantageous.

Experience:
2 years disbursement reconciliations/Accounts Payable.
Foreign currency conversion experience.

Key Responsibilities for this role:
Ensure timeous payments are made to service providers
Ensure all supplier queries are resolved timeously.

Main acitivities for this role:
Controlling foreign creditors disbursement accounts.
Reconciliation of invoices to creditors statements.
Liaison with creditors in respect of queries.
Preparing payment advices.
Batching creditors invoices with sales and printouts for data capturing.
Reconciliation and balancing of disbursement reconciliations to the general ledger/Accounts Payable.
Follow up with client controllers on a regular basis for recovery details of supplier invoices to be paid.
Extracting relevant reports from Cargowise as and when required.
Capturing of data and invoices.

Skills & Competencies

Knowledge:

Freight experience & terminology would be advantageous.
Knowledge of Accounting principles and how to accurately apply them.
Knowledge of the Import/Export Industry.
Knowledge of the foreign exchange market.
Knowledge of CargoWise would be an advantage.

Skills:
Must be MS Excel literate at an intermediate level.
Knowledge of CargoWise would be an advantage.
Must be highly numerate.
Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to 3rd parties.
Must be able to complete tasks accurately and promptly.
Must be able to meet tight deadlines.
Effective problem solving skills.
