Amazon is seeking a dynamic candidate to fill the role of Vendor Specialist. This position calls for someone experienced, hard-working, and creative, who can collaborate with strategic vendor partners to enhance the value, selection, and convenience of their business offerings.

As a Vendor Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing and managing vendor relationships, implementing joint business plans, and driving various initiatives to boost business growth. This role is both strategic and hands-on, offering a fantastic chance to gain valuable experience in the online retail industry.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the 'business owner' for vendors, with a deep understanding of internal and external factors affecting the business
- Lead forecasting, monitoring, and reporting on vendor performance, while spearheading supply chain projects
- Negotiate costs and promotional opportunities independently
- Analyze pricing and ROI to optimize profit margins
- Manage Purchase Orders and In-Stock analysis for key brands
- Enhance online product presence and content
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to drive brand awareness and sales
- Drive cross-category initiatives to enhance operational efficiency

This role presents a unique opportunity to work with a cutting-edge online retailer, gaining expertise in merchandising, marketing, buying, planning, pricing, and business analysis. Vendor Specialists have the potential to progress into roles like Merchandising, Vendor Management, and Inventory Management.

We are considering candidates for roles based in Cape Town, ZAF.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience with Excel
- 5+ years in retail, operations, or business management with a focus on negotiation and results delivery
- Proficiency in financial analysis and P&L management
- Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in managing large data sets to drive performance improvements
- Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing, inventory management, and product development
