Your Role at Impact:


We are seeking a talented and experienced Design Team Leader to join our dynamic design team, part of the marketing department.

As the Design Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the visual direction and creative execution of our marketing initiatives and overall brand look and feel.

Your expertise in design, leadership, and marketing will be instrumental in delivering compelling and impactful visual content that resonates with our target audience.

Work with your team of designers to manage design requests, quality output and their development as designers.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to understand project objectives, target audience, and brand guidelines to develop effective design strategies and help guide and drive the design briefs.
  • Oversee your designers through the endtoend design process, from conceptualization to final execution, ensuring deliverables are consistently of high quality, onbrand, and aligned with project timelines.
  • Provide constructive design feedback to your team, and identify professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, such as copywriters, marketers, and project managers, to ensure cohesive and integrated design solutions for larger campaigns.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks effectively, and ensure timely delivery of design assets to stakeholders. Excellent communications skills are essential to keep projects flowing smoothly between assigned designers and the task stakeholders.
  • Execute occasional conference calls in the evening as needed to facilitate collaboration with US personnel. This roles' Direct Manager, the Senior Manager of Design, is based in New York timezone, with Designers based in Cape Town, along with other Marketing team members.

What You Have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in design or a related field. The equivalent in work experience will be considered.
  • Previous businesstobusiness marketing experience required
  • Excellent computer skills including but not limited to: Adobe Creative Suite, G Suite,Figma, Asana & Canva.
  • Mastery level capabilities of design concepts (colour, typography, scale, proportion)
  • Knowledge and management skills to oversee all aspects of design, including planning, design, and development
  • Knowledge and respect for working within corporate brand guidelines. Experience with brand guideline evolution and updating of CI documents.
  • Discretion, selfmotivation, diplomacy and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to produce new ideas and concepts and foster an environment to bring out the best in your colleagues in these areas
  • Strong understanding of print & packing files for various vendors.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once and balance priorities
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and written skills, including presentation delivery
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and prioritise a varied workload in a fastpaced, unpredictable, and demanding environment; comfortable with ambiguity
