My client is searching for a skilled and passionate Lodge Manager to oversee the daily operations of their lodge, which includes chalets, a restaurant, a bar, and wildlife. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of the lodge, ensuring top-notch customer service and maintaining exceptional quality and hospitality standards. Accommodation and a food allowance are provided as well. The lodge is located in KwaZulu Natal, and the role is suitable for single individuals.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the Food, Beverage, and Kitchen Departments
  • Manage the Housekeeping department
  • Handle Front Office duties
  • Oversee all financial aspects with strong leadership skills and a sense of ownership
  • Manage bookings and daily reports meticulously
  • Supervise stock takes and kitchen orders
  • Maintain grounds and accommodation units
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and ability to work independently
  • Ensure good personal presentation and hygiene

Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement: Matric certificate
  • Hospitality-related qualification
  • Proficient in Food and Beverage management
  • Excellent organizational and administrative abilities
  • Skilled in HR, payroll, and staff management
  • Basic Maintenance knowledge
  • Valid driver's license and own vehicle
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends

  • Cultural sensitivity and understanding
  • Confident and effective communication with guests and staff
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Precise, detail-oriented, and able to handle pressure
  • Proficiency in Excel/Sheets and systems
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Physically fit, with good health and habits
