Role Overview

The Junior Automation Analyst is responsible for assisting the Consulting Team throughout the automation lifecycle.

This includes As-Is process discovery, process capture and mapping, data analysis, requirements elicitation and documentation, project administration, and workshop support.


Roles and Responsibilities
Provides support in the Define, Design and Deliver stages of the Automation lifecycle, including assisting with Opportunity Assessments, Analysis, Solutioning and Design deliverables, and the project management of the delivery phase:

  • Engages with process SMEs and reviews existing documentation to get an understanding of As-Is processes, and documents As-Is processes as required
  • Captures process data and relevant baseline metrics
  • Analyses the process flows to identify activities that can be automated
  • Inputs data into the business case modeler to assess process automation potential (i.e. suitability), expected benefits and to score, rank and sequence the implementation of automations
  • Assists the IA Analyst to draw up the roadmap for implementation and associated business case
  • Assists IA Analyst / Consultant with setup, configuration and analysis associated with process / task mining
  • During the delivery stage provides support to the IA Analysts to brief the IA development team on the solution and detailed process design to inform the Automation Work Instruction (AWI), close gaps in knowledge and facilitate reviews
  • Assists the IA Analyst to plan, define scenarios and facilitate user acceptance testing
  • Assists the IA Analyst to document operational run books that describe the steps of the automated process and exception scenarios
  • Assists the IA Analysts and IA Consultants to manage the projects across all phases of the automation lifecycle including setting up of projects on Project Works, development of charters, risks, issues, actions and decision logs

Experience and Education

  • 13 years' experience in similar role
  • Degree / diploma in process engineering / business / management information systems (or similar)
  • The following would be advantageous:
  • Formal training / accreditation with Process Improvement methods such as Lean
  • Exposure to process modelling tools and notations. (e.g. Ms Visio and BPMN notation)
  • Experience in delivering quantifiable operational performance improvement
  • Experience with business requirements management, testing and process improvement in improvement / automation / software implementation projects
  • Experience in working with Intelligent Automation technologies including; workflow, RPA, process mining, task mining, Intelligent Document Processing etc.
