Role Overview


We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our friendly and geo-dispersed team which is currently located across several offices around Africa and the UK.

This role will be supporting and reporting directly to the Management Accountant.

This is an exciting opportunity to be actively involved in establishing accounts payable approach in a fast-growing international business.

The role will initially focus on supporting of account payable management, treasury reporting and assisting in month end closure activities.


In addition, you will also be responsible for improvement of Kuda's accounts payable processes by assisting in setting up and implementing new, group-wide, accounting software.

As the business expands into multiple operational markets you will be required to support transactions across different regions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for weekly treasury reporting to the management and ensuring there is sufficient cash balance at all times for day to day working capital requirements
  • Working closely with cross functional teams to resolve any vendor related matters
  • Posting of month end journals including but not limited to accruals, prepayment, intercompany transactions
  • Assist with accurate and timely closure of month end activities
  • Support in preparation of internal and other financial reports
  • Suggesting ways to improve the daytoday accounting processes
  • Assisting with implementation of new accounting software across the group
  • Other Ad hoc duties as may reasonably be requested by Group Financial Controller and CFO

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Having 23 years of experience in accounting field
  • Invoice and/or payments processing knowledge
  • Knowledge of accounts payable procedures and regulations
  • Familiar with IFRS and withholding tax systems is beneficial
  • Experience with working on Xero, Approval Max software and Microsoft Dynamics is preferred but not essential
  • Ability to work independently and strong time management skills
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Intermediate to advanced excel proficiency
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Team Player and selfstarter
  • Strong interpersonal and business partnering skills
  • Able to organise, prioritise and take ownership of the task assigned
