Set up and manufacture items based on information detailed in engineering drawings in accordance with set times.

  • Assembling of machines.
  • Measure and inspect own work to ensure that it meets the specifications detailed on the drawings.
  • Accountable for housekeeping in area around work area.
  • Accountable for own safety, safety of machine and the work environment
  • Do basic maintenance on machine.
  • In the event of work exceeding planned times, discuss and resolve with Team Leader.
  • Perform safety inspections on machine(s)
  • Suggest and make improvements on quality, efficiency and safety aspects of the job.
  • Assist in the training of new incumbents/multiskilling in the workshop.
  • Assist management with daily workshop related tasks.
  • Accountable for contributing to building a high performance, high morale engineering team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of a N2 qualification.
  • Must be a qualified Fitter artisan with Trade certificate with a minimum 3 year machine workshop experience.
  • Must know how to read and understand engineering drawing.
  • Assembling of automated machine from engineering drawing.
  • Measure and inspect own work to ensure that it meets the specifications detailed on the drawings.
  • Capable of performing fault finding diagnostics on all equipment across all engineering disciplines.
  • Indepth knowledge of engineering related principles and standards.
  • Knowledge of maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
