  • Supervise certain staff in the finance department
  • Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
  • Bring the books to the trial balance stage
  • Reconcile bank accounts daily
  • Assist with calculating inventory costing
  • Complete tax calculations and forms (VAT, EMP201, etc.)
  • Enter data, maintain records and create reports
  • Process accounts receivable/payable in a timely manner
  • Maintain fixed asset register
  • Prepare monthly management accounts

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven bookkeeping experience
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Handson experience with spreadsheets
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office
  • Proficiency in Pastel Partner and Sage 200 Evolution will be advantageous
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Be able to supervise staff in the finance department
