About the job

To coordinate and manage the Supply Chain functions for the South Africa Exports Business and ensure the accurate execution within these roles.

10.1. Strategy and Planning

  • Support and implement the DSA Exports Supply Chain Strategy alongside the wider DSA supply chain team to meet overall business Objectives.
  • Stakeholder management both internal and external to ensure effective relationships within context of wider Danone South Africa teams (Company & category).
  • Manage and Monitors logistics adherence to best practice and performance
  • Operational management of the external and internal logistics contracts and Service Level Agreements, including efficient conflict resolution in disputes
  • Understand and define areas for improvements within Exports logistics
  • Define and follow up improvement action plans (internal/external)
  • Deliver optimal service to the customers/distributors
10.2. Controls

  • Accountable for the identification of logistics costs and implementation of logistics productivity plan projects
  • Define and negotiate SLA's for 3PL suppliers, and provide support to the Head of Exports in the active management of 3PL's (i.e. Freight forwarders, etc.)
  • Drive operational and process developments
  • Optimise inventory, prevent write off and smooth in bound and out bound processes for the best utilization of goods and the right service and stocks for our customers.
  • Lead the team in logistics management projects
  • Translate the DSA exports business needs into production schedule for the plant. Track the demand / rolling forecast of the DSA Exports business & propose effective production plan (s). This task based on S&OP plan (Sales and Operation plan) will trigger the right planning for raw and packaging materials.
  • Lead the demand planning monthly meeting with the Business development managers and Demand planners. Interact with key DSA demand function in term of optimal supply including the safety stocks.
10.3. Reporting

  • Complete all management reports for Exports team
  • Proactive management of network constraints
  • Monitor Exports logistics performance
10.4. Relationship Building

  • Maintain oversight of Third-Party Logistics Suppliers
  • Manage and be a key role player in contractual relationships with new 3PL's
  • Facilitate the introduction of the new Exports Supply organisation in Danone SA
10.5. Finance and Budget

  • Provide input into the budget setting process, and take overall accountability for working within budget
  • Oversee the daytoday management the DSA Exports logistics budget
  • Give feedback against the budget tracker
About you

ACADEMIC AND TRADE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum B.Comm/3 year qualification in Supply Chain/Logistics

WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • At least 34 years' experience in FMCG Warehouse and Distribution/Supply Chain management/Exports Logistics
  • Proficient in MS Office: Excel, Work, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Previous experience in working with SAP is an advantage
  • Presentation skills
