Grain Business Process Specialist

To be a trusted advisor in best practice business processes in the Grain Trading environment and to analyse business processes and map them to the relevant IT system.


MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED

  • Grade 1
  • ITIL V4 Foundation or higher an advantage
  • JSE Financial Markets Examination will be an advantage
  • IT qualification will be an advantage
  • Project management qualification will be an advantage

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 35 years experience in financial concepts and practices
  • 35 years experience in grain trading concepts and practices
  • Experience in business analysis, process design and documentation

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Provide input into Business Applications strategy, relevant IT policies, and the Document and Content Management Strategy
  • Assess and anticipate technology projects and recommend appropriate actions with regard to the roadmap
  • Report as required on all aspects relating to the approved Business Applications roadmap
  • Actively participate in identifying process improvements, error resolution, introducing new solutions to simplify and/or introduce efficiencies, and designing effective solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Configure and test the IT system in the relevant module(s) to ensure alignment with the business processes and business requirements
  • Provide a business system support and problem resolution function, including training and project delivery, and project management
  • Change Management and Training, inclusive of the development of training material must also be provided when required
  • Proactively investigate issues, evaluate solutions and drive to resolution
  • Oversee the recruitment of competent employees, manage and monitor employee performance standards, identify training and development needs and ensure fair disciplinary action to address deviations
  • Ensure that all stakeholders comply with all relevant AFGRI frameworks, policies/procedures and identify potential risks in all applicable working environments and report to the appropriate forum

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES

  • Business process knowledge including the ability to document these processes.
  • Strong integrated understanding into other systems.
  • Strong understanding of Finance, Regulations, Grain Trading.
  • Strong understanding of programming principles.
  • Experience working in an ERP (SAP) environment.
  • Excellent working knowledge of business processes and agricultural business systems where applicable.
  • Ability to create integrated system structures and work practices for self and team.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a highpressure environment for self and teams.
  • Demonstrated skill in managing the development of optimal business systems.
  • Ability to communicate concepts in a concise and eloquent form to management and to crossfunctional departments or teams verbally, in writing, and through pictures or diagrams when appropriate
  • Knowledge of new technologies (in relevant field) and maintaining and staying abreast of updates and changes and making the appropriate recommendations
  • Excellent MS Office 365 skills
  • Experience in implementing quality guidelines, standards and procedures and alignment with external and internal teams
  • Excellent experience in consulting and influencing stakeholders as and when required
  • Sound decisionmaking ability
