What will you do?

  • We have an exciting opportunity for a
    National Claims Manager at Echelon, a division of Santam. The incumbent reports to the Head of the division at an EXCO level. The incumbent is required to be multiskilled, have a very strong claims technical background, and be an excellent manager of people. This person would be responsible for the smooth running of the claims department (Motor, Non-Motor, Liability), and ensuring that the management of this department meets the Company's claim's philosophy and protocols at every level.
    This role will be based at our Sunclare offices in Claremont.
  • Key to this is ensuring that the claims supervisors and claims administrators adhere strictly to the following:
  • Service level agreements
  • Approved claims authorities
  • Separation of claims duties
  • Management of volumes and conflicts of interest
  • Oversight and direct management of complex claims

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric
NQF4 in short term insurance- RE level - Minimum 5 year's Senior Management experience
years experience in the High Net Worth personal lines insurance

  • Previous experience in underwriting (preferred)

Knowledge and Skills

  • Very strong managerial, proven leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong highnetworth technical and product knowledge in claims and underwriting
  • Analytical and logically minded
  • Ability to solve complex problems
