African Unity Life Limited An Authorised Financial Services Provider, operating within the life insurance industry in South Africa, requires the services of a Key Account Manager.


Role purpose:
To retain clients and nurture those key relationships over time. Become a strategic partner and advisor to the client, discovering new opportunities to work together for mutual benefit.

  • Take over client service responsibility for existing clients
  • Coordinate the successful onboarding of new clients between business and sales
  • Develop client retention, growth plans and strategies for developing profitable business with clients
  • Develop trust relationships with clients
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of client needs and requirements
  • Identify needs & grow client portfolios and revenue through the selling of additional products
  • Ensure the correct services are delivered to clients in a timely manner
  • Always ensure that, the company's brand, positioning and marketing profile are optimised and that the company's reputation is, in so doing, continuously enhanced
  • Serve as the link of communication between clients and the internal team
  • Provide ongoing information and updates on products and services to clients
  • Ensuring that existing relationships with clients and other role players are strengthened and built continuously
  • Adhering to customer service and service level agreement management
  • Manages, planning, scheduling, and attending of all client meetings
  • Oversee all followup items with regards to clients
  • Manage all clientbusiness communications
  • Communicate client instructions in writing to relevant support functions
  • Provides excellent face to face and telephonic service to clients
  • Builds sustainable relationships that enhance the brand
  • Monitoring client relationship status
  • Resolve problems and ensure clients receive highquality service
  • Attend to queries within agreed timelines
  • Collaborate to ensure client satisfaction
  • Monitoring clients' payment cycles and outstanding payments to ensure compliance with payment terms and agreements
  • Review and report on client retention, business opportunities and market trends
  • Ensure alignment to Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) in all business practices business

Qualifications

  • Matric
  • Tertiary qualification (BCom, Sales and Marketing other relevant degrees advantageous).
  • Must meet the FAIS Act qualifications requirements. (RE5 and RE1)

Experience and skills

  • Minimum of 8 years within the insurance industry in a similar position
  • Experience in the funeral, credit life, group life, disability, medical insurance, and employee benefit products
  • Proven experience in the insurance industry relating to client services providing solutions based on client needs
  • Proven industryrelevant track record of indepth knowledge of the insurance domain, associated standards, practices, and regulations
  • Proven track record of client satisfaction
  • Established record of connections and relationships within the industry
  • Experience dealing with intermediaries
  • Computer Literacy
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication (verbal and written)
  • Facilitation and presentation skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Negotiation skills
