Exciting Opportunity:
Historical Workshop Craftsman

Requirements:

Formal or informal training in woodwork (carpentry), blacksmithing, or leatherwork.
Matric or relevant higher qualification preferred.
Experience working in a small team.
Fluent in both written and spoken Afrikaans and English.
Exceptional people skills, especially in a hospitality or tourism context.
Reliable, well-organized, and creative mindset.
Ability to work in historical costume, engage with visitors, and perform demonstrations during hospitality hours, including weekends.

Responsibilities:

Conduct daily demonstrations of woodwork and blacksmithing tasks to the public and school groups.
Prepare the workshop for demonstrations, maintain supplies, tools, and general workshop tidiness.
Engage with visitors, explaining the work and historical context, answering questions, and showcasing custom products for sale.
Collaborate with the Activities Manager to ensure seamless workshop operations.
