A five-star boutique hotel situated on an estate in Stellenbosch is seeking a F&B cost-controller to join their team.

  • SA citizen.
  • Must have own car and valid drivers license.
  • A minimum of three years, recent experience at a fivestar property in a similar role.

Salary:
R R depending on experience.
No benefits, bonuses or 13th cheques.

  • Monitoring and controlling costs across various departments within the hotel, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines and identifying areas for potential savings.
  • Collaborating with department heads and other stakeholders to develop and implement cost control strategies, aiming to optimize operational efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
  • Conducting regular audits of inventory and supplies, ensuring accurate stock levels, minimizing wastage, and identifying any discrepancies or irregularities.
  • Analyzing financial data and preparing detailed reports on expenses, variances, and trends, providing insights and recommendations to management for informed decisionmaking.
  • Assisting in the preparation and monitoring of departmental budgets, working closely with department heads to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Implementing and maintaining effective internal controls and procedures related to purchasing, receiving, and inventory management, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Reviewing supplier contracts, negotiating pricing and terms, and seeking opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or service.
  • Collaborating with the procurement team to source and select suppliers/vendors based on quality, pricing, and reliability, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Conducting regular inventory counts and reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies, and implementing corrective measures to prevent future issues.
  • Providing guidance and training to departmental staff on cost control procedures, promoting awareness and accountability for managing expenses.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial forecasts and projections, contributing to the overall financial planning and analysis process.
  • Participating in crossfunctional teams and meetings to provide insights and contribute to the overall success of the hotel.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including tax regulations, financial reporting standards, and internal policies.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and integrity of financial information, handling sensitive data with professionalism and discretion.

Salary:
R19, R22,000.00 per month
