PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Origination & Advisory is organised through global products and regional client coverage spanning different geographies and industry focused teams. The South African Coverage team is looking to add a senior investment banker to their EMEA platform.


You will be involved in origination and execution of O&A transactions, development and management of client relationships as well as relationships across the Investment Bank.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for supporting and driving the O&A strategy in South Africa
  • Client coverage initiatives to build strategic dialogue with key global and local clients
  • Bring in new client relationships and access to the DB SA franchise
  • Responsible for origination efforts to build and maintain a sustainable pipeline of deals
  • Lead execution on deals, particularly the SAspecific workstreams
  • Collaboration with product and sector teams across EMEA, US and Asia
  • Developing and mentoring the team

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • At least 78 years relevant Corporate Finance experience across advisory and capital market products
  • Proven client coverage and origination experience
  • Experience in leading execution on deals
  • Complex deal understanding and structuring capabilities in M&A, ECM and DCM
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of the SA regulatory environment
  • Strong analytical approach combined with creative problemsolving abilities
  • High levels of initiative and ingenuity, high proactivity levels and drive
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to drive and influence senior, crossfunctional and crossregional deal teams, interfacing with multiple business partners across business lines and regions
  • Able to communicate well with excellent negotiation skills and the ability to work effectively in teams
  • Able to creatively solve problems and to successfully navigate a large, matrixbased organisation
