Job Profile:


Project Manager will be responsible for Development and Management of any New Model (or Existing Models), Production Planning and Project Administration.

The Project Manager must have vast knowledge on developing a new yacht from concept.


This Manager is involved in planning, directing and organising the different manufacturing-related activities and managing the resources needed in the manufacturing process to control production costs, increasing productivity and revenues.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To manage execution of new projects on time, on budget, and on specification.
  • To establish the project progress measurement system based on the nature of the project, while providing integration between the various planning systems.
  • To identify and mitigate risks for all new projects.
  • To plan & schedule all new projects from prototype phase through to integration into production.
  • Planning: Defining goals and establishing an overall strategy for achieving those goals.
  • Leading: Setting direction, motivating, and inspiring people, and influencing them to work towards the accomplishment of the goals.
  • Controlling: Monitoring progress towards the goals, taking corrective action when necessary, and recognizing accomplishments.
  • Decisionmaking: Analyzing data, evaluating alternatives, and making sound decisions to ensure the success of the organization.
  • Reporting status of project/projects to all stake holders on a regular basis.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of Project Management in the Boat Building industry (10yrs+)
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Effective business writing to report standard.
  • Problem solving abilities.
  • Excellent leadership.
  • Excellent Interpersonal attributes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Projects.
  • Expert knowledge of boat building activities.
  • Knowledge of NMMA Boat and Yacht Certification standards advantageous
  • Understanding of basic finance and accounting
  • Degree / BCom in Project Management or equivalent qualification would be advantageous.
  • Capable of setting up project and production schedules in accordance with good project management practices based on critical path methodology (Gantt charts, WBS and Network diagrams), which describes the sequence of work and identifies the significant task interdependencies required to meet the project scope of work.
  • Working experience with scheduling (and cost control) software (MS Projects); able to put activities in schedules, assign resources, identify critical paths and highrisk activities, and do analysis on how long it will take to accomplish the project.
  • Full understanding of crossfunctional interfaces with, and deliverables engineering, procurement materials & subcontracts, estimating, cost management, construction & commissioning, safety, quality, finance/accounting, and document controls.
