Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, oversee, and manage audit engagements performed by the firm across diverse industries.
- Make recommendations on policies, plan, and review audit engagements.
- Manage, train, and support audit clerks.
- Work closely with the audit director to meet client expectations and deadlines.
- Directly report to and support the audit director.
- Develop and implement external auditing processes, policies, and procedures.
- Supervise and conduct independent audits, including investigations on irregularities and errors.
- Draft recommendations on corrective measures and assist clients with the design and implementation of internal control procedures.
- Identify training needs, plan, organize, and develop structured training sessions.
- Plan and schedule audit engagements, monitoring costs against budgets.
- Mentor audit assistants and other audit staff.
- Act to resolve issues preventing the audit team from working effectively.
- Ensure completion of audits on time and review and assess their completion.
- Analyze financial data, records, reports, and statements.
- Coordinate with the client's management team to take necessary action on audit findings.
- Assist with business development, client relationship management, and building a client base.
- Manage work in process and audit budgets.
- Remain up to date on pertinent rules and regulations, best practices, and audit techniques.
Minimum Requirements:
- Completed SAICA Articles.
- Minimum 3 years of extensive experience in accounting and auditing.
- Solid knowledge of ISA, IFRS for SME, laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Record of success in external audits and leading audit teams.
- Extensive knowledge of Draftworx, including RAC (Risk Assessment per Component).
- Experience with financial software (Pastel/Sage Online/Xero) advantageous.
- Fully bilingual: English and Afrikaans.
