Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, Agriculture, Biotechnology, or related scientific discipline
  • A SACNASP registration would be ideal
  • Minimum 5 years regulatory compliance experience and experience in local and international agricultural products submissions are essential
  • Must be proficient in scientific report writing
  • The ability to communicate/inform and educate managers and departments on regulations, policies and required compliance will be required
  • Must have extensive knowledge of local and international regulations applicable to the company
  • Knowledge of export and import control requirements and QMS, ISO9001, ISO14001, OECD-GLP systems would be ideal
  • Familiarity with foodrelated and health regulations, the

National Environmental Management:
Waste Act and the

National Environment:
Biodiversity Act would be an added advantage

  • Implementing Ensuring compliance with government regulations in all the countries where the companies operate, and continuously monitoring for any changes or updates to those regulations.
  • Serving as a liaison between the company and regulatory bodies, and participating in regulatory industry association activities to stay up to date on the latest trends and best practices.
  • Maintaining and continuously communicating the company's knowledge of regulations and any regulatory changes internally, to ensure that all employees are aware of the latest requirements and can comply with them.
  • Maintaining an organized internal repository of regulated data, communication, guidance, technical data, trial data, and submissions, and continuously updating it as new information becomes available.
  • Corresponding with external consultants on an ongoing basis to ensure that the company is receiving the most uptodate advice and guidance on regulatory matters.
  • Supporting the planning and continuous implementation of efforts to obtain new registrations and geographic expansion, while staying abreast of any regulatory changes that could impact these efforts.
  • Coordinating with operational, marketing, and design departments on an ongoing basis regarding product and label design, as well as product development, to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Continuously monitoring the regulatory environment and the effect of any changes on the company's operations, and developing strategies to address any new challenges or opportunities that arise.
  • Working closely with other staff and marketing teams in a strongly teamoriented role, to ensure that everyone is aligned and working together towards the common goal of regulatory compliance.
  • Assisting in the investigation of incidents and continuously developing action plans to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
  • Ensuring continuous compliance with environmental and occupational health regulations, and continuously improving the company's performance in these areas.
  • Assisting in the continuous implementation and maintenance of the company's Quality Management System (QMS), including but not limited to ISO9001, ISO14001, OECD-GLP, etc.
  • Developing budgets, timelines, and continuously developing cost reduction initiatives while still maintaining quality and efficiency in all regulatory affairs activities.
