Your responsibilities and tasks:

Job Purpose:


The key purpose of this function is to develop and to optimize the Supply Chain function by improving the service level and to ensure the products and or services are delivered at the best costs and on time for all Business Units within GEA Africa.


Job Objectives:
Operational

  • Processes orders
  • Clarifies issues with requestors and suppliers
  • Communicates with suppliers on demand, volume and delivery times, reduction of transaction cost, etc.
  • Tracks delivery and invoice performance
  • Onboards the supplier base, manages and updates data in systems
  • Follows processes, guidelines and Procurement policies
Strategic

  • Works closely with category managers of respective category and project procurement managers implementing the category strategy and linking it into the business
  • Runs negotiations, manages RFQs, negotiations, awarding decisions and followup with suppliers, takes awarding decisions in line with category strategy
  • Executes supplier selection along strategy, requirements, supplier base development, and identification of new suppliers
  • Monitors and communicates performance of suppliers
  • Predominantly works tactically executes strategic initiatives
  • Key focus: modifies and improves existing processes or products.
  • Strives for automation and digitalization practices and tool improvement
  • Assist in identifying Cost Savings Opportunities
  • Project manage implementation of solutions to identified cost savings opportunities
General

  • Ensures cost, availability, innovation, and quality within the sourcing plan creation and execution
  • Ensures compliance with procurement process, policies and other statutory requirements within category
  • Accountable for achieving agreed KPIs and their reporting

Key Stakeholders:

  • Internal customers: Supply Chain and Procurement Functions in Divisions and BUs, Sales, Procurement Category Managers, Legal & Compliance Organization
  • External customers: Suppliers

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no direct reports.

Your profile and qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement
  • Diploma / Degree in Business Administration, Procurement/Purchasing/ Supply Chain (Advantageous)
  • Sound financial background
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP Systems

Professional Knowledge and Experiences:

  • Experience in procurement processes
  • Knowhow of international contract management
  • Cost analysis and management
  • Experience with implementation of corporate procurement
  • Work experience in complex organizations
  • Negotiation experience
  • Systems: International ERP system experience (eg. SAP, Axapta, etc)

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound time and selfmanagement practices
  • Accurate with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team

Computer Skills:

  • Advance knowledge of MS Excel
  • Proficiency in MS Office
