Our regional and country offices serve as a hub of communication between our office-based staff and more than half the company's employees that are directly involved in the promotion of our medicines to Healthcare Professionals throughout our markets in our African Cluster.

South Africa is one of the largest AstraZeneca country offices within our African Cluster.

You will be responsible for implementing the people plan with a focus on:

  • Executing the people strategy in support of the business strategy
  • Providing advice and guidance on complex HR issues in order to minimize risk and financial exposure
  • Change management support for business changes and organizational shaping
  • Talent development and succession planning
  • Learning and development strategies to deliver business requirements
  • Leading people projects e.g. BBBEE & Skills Development, EE, etc.
  • Acting as primary point of contact for HR policies and people issues
  • Contributing and collaborating as a member of the AfriCAN Cluster and Middle East Africa (MEA) HR teams

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED?
You will bring to the role strong business acumen in terms of how HR operates. You will be comfortable driving and challenging the business leaders where you can add a differing view point/consideration.

  • Educated to Bachelor's Degree level or higher.
  • Technical HR knowledge / skills associated one or more of the following disciplines
  • Strategic Workforce Planning / Resourcing, Performance & Reward, Leadership & Talent Development, OD and organizational change
  • Strong project management skills and able to demonstrate experience of managing complex HR projects through a complete project lifecycle
  • Selfstarter with a drive to make things happen at pace
  • Strong emotional intelligence, listening, influencing and coaching skills
  • Resilience
  • Strong stakeholder and influencing skills
