Job Advert Summary:

PURPOSE:

  • Responsible for Enterprise Architecture maintenance.
  • Manage and coordinate architects' teams.
  • Manage design and implementation of fit for purpose solutions.
  • Accountable for integrating information from all business strategies and portfolios by gathering input from business, data gathered from customers, insights from industry.
  • The inputs in conjunction with technology trends, requirements from Information Management functions such as BU's IM head of operations, Infrastructure, Business Solutions, Governance, Risk, Compliance, Information Security, and other architecture domains, and the (ARB) Architecture Review Board are used to develop the vision, strategic direction, and architecture for the specific domains within scope of the role.
  • Accountable for driving information management solutions evaluation and selection to set information management architecture standards with and in accordance with the (ARB) Architecture Review Board team.

MAJOR CHALLENGES:

  • Understand interdependencies and gaps across Exxaro business models is essential for effective change.
  • Ability to drive change, be a change agent.
  • Accountable for designing reusable information management assets and standards to support solution development, as well as consulting with business, service owners, infrastructure, compliance, legal and project management office on how to best leverage these assets. Ability to deal with ambiguity and diverse teams across Exxaro value chain.
  • Ability to integrate process, people and technology (Information Management solutions), provide integrated Exxaro Enterprise Architecture holistical view.
  • Reduce solutions complexity.
  • Manage the complexity. Optimise IM spending by eliminating redundancies and aligning IM capital investments.
  • Produce IM solutions roadmaps.

Minimum Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSc (Hons) Computer Science (Essential/Minimum or)
  • B Degree (Hons) (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum)
  • Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)
  • Certificate ITIL Foundation (Recommended/Desirable)

EXPERIENCE:

8-10 years Proven experience in successfully designing and developing complex and sophisticated solution systems deployed in various environments. Demonstrable and substantial experience in leading and managing teams of solution architects and enterprise architects. Demonstrate ability to articulate and gain engagement for ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. Extensive experience in building Enterprise architecture frameworks (Infrastructure, Information Integrations, Applications). A minimum of 5 years' experience in management. (Essential/Minimum) Management

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
  • Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
  • Cert Open Group Architecture Framework (Recommended/Desirable)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Best Practice and Knowledge Management

  • Support to all portfolio's, programs, and projects
  • Identify and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to improve systems and processes
  • Responsible for monitoring architecture related governance forums
  • Participate in IM governance forums for advisory purposes

Business Performance and Operations

  • Embed Enterprise Architecture function in IM and Exxaro
  • Perform research studies on technology and trends and assess business fit

Compliance, Governance and Assurance

  • Provide input to the investment decision and Governance processes
  • Analyse current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies
  • Define principles to guide technology decisions and Information Technology (IT) strategies related to Information Management
  • Oversee and facilitate evaluation and selection of enterprise software and security technology and product standards
  • Identify organisational and financial impact of enterprise and security architectures

Effective People Management

  • Performance management: Adhere to performance management procedures
  • Coach and mentor team of architects
  • Drive a culture of accountability, high performance, and oneteam

Enterprise Architecture Framework

  • Define and communicate Exxaro enterprise architecture technology plan with input from stakeholders across the organisation
  • Identify, plan and lead architecture initiatives
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate conceptual architecture frameworks
  • Collect, monitor, and report key architecture metrics.
  • Build strong relationships and communicate with all key stakeholders locally and globally
  • Maintain architecture and technology knowledge
  • Inform and advise Information Management (IM) on Enterprise technology, product, and vendor trends
  • Develop Proofofconcepts for each technological innovation
  • Benchmark and best practice investigation of architecture framework and principles
