ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR:
TRANSPORT (Transaction Advisory) Johannesburg, Gauteng

Global Consulting firm is currently growing their team of professionals
The Company is a
Transaction Advisor on a multi-billion Rand commuter rail Public-Private Partnership.

Following development of a comprehensive feasibility study, the team is currently finalising preparation of all documentation and structures necessary to procure an appropriate private party.

The
Associate Director will oversee the next steps of the project over a 3 year period, which include
procurement implementation, evaluation, negotiation, contract close, and transition.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A
    Masters degree in Engineering/Finance/Business/Legal/Project Management or equivalent.
-
11-13 years demonstrable experience as a project team leader of a transaction advisory team for
large multi-disciplinary PPP and commuter rail projects.
-
9 years experience in commercial management of PPP projects, including contract negotiations, risk management, variations, dispute management, insurance, project costs and revenue, value engineering, and project financial management.
-
9 years demonstrable experience in alternative revenue generation/value capture (in addition to fare box revenue) on commuter rail projects.

  • Leading a diverse team on developing and procuring a complex and highpressure PPP ideally in South Africa and in commuter rail.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overall leadership, strategy, and management of the project
  • Organise, integrate, and coordinate all project workstreams and experts to achieve milestones and deliverables according to project timelines
  • Ensure the suitability and quality of all milestones and deliverables, including provision of technical input and insight where required/relevant
  • Develop and maintain an optimal structure for the teams delivery strategy and daytoday approach
  • Establish and maintain an appropriate communication framework and ensure effective communication among and between members of the project team, the client team, and other core roleplayers
  • Lead engagement with, and overall reporting to, the client and other key stakeholders, including in regular project progress, project management, and steering committee meetings
  • Work closely with the Project Director, and other team members as appropriate, in matters of project strategy
  • Work closely with the Project Management Officer, and other teams members as appropriate, in matters of project management (including in the development and oversight of necessary project management dashboards, workplans, and tools)
  • Work closely with, and cultivate a trusted relationship with, the client Project Officer and other key members of the client body
  • Oversee the project team in delivery of its Skills Development and Knowledge Transfer Programme
