Description:

Marsh has a great opportunity for a Peripheral Broker to join our team in the Johannesburg office. The position offers an exciting challenge and career opportunity for someone with a few years of experience in Short Term insurance looking to join an established broking team within a market-leading insurance broker. This is a full-time role and you must be able to attend the office a minimum of 3 days a week.

We will rely on you to:

  • Provide Broking Services
  • Attend strategy meetings and/or renewal meetings
  • Preparation / Finalization of Broking documentation
  • Identification and selection of appropriate markets
  • Distribution of Broking Notes to the market
  • Negotiating with Markets for best deals
  • Implementation of placement strategy on high complexity accounts
  • Collation of market terms and quotes for submission to client services
  • Preparation / Finalization of Placing Slips
  • Closings to markets / obtaining market confirmation of cover
  • Confirm final placement / changes and Endorsements
  • Work with the Operations team to issue accurate policy schedules
  • Preparation of other broking documentation as required

What you need to have:

  • Demonstrable experience in short term insurance and/or commercial and/or corporate insurance broking
  • FAIS and CPD compliant
  • Knowledge of the principles of risk management
  • Certificate in Insurance or commenced studying towards AIISA an advantage
  • Insurer relationships an advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Conversant with insurance legislation
  • Excellent communications skills - English and local language verbal and written
