Purpose of the role

The main objective is to evaluate and analyze client profiles using due diligence tools to ensure compliance with Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Combating Financing Terrorism (CFT) standards, as well as other regulatory requirements necessitating such scrutiny before and during business interactions.

What will you do?

The Anti-Money Laundering Analyst is accountable for the following tasks:

- Review alerts generated by screening tool case management system
- Assess similarity of customer data with potential sanctioned, politically exposed persons (PEP) & Special Interest Persons (SIP)
- Monitor high-risk clients continuously
- Report suspicious transactions to Anti-Money Laundering Reporting Officer
- Perform Enhanced Due Diligence on high-risk clients
- Determine true match or false positive status based on specific elimination criteria
- Escalate alerts to Senior Management if required
- Follow a validation approach for findings
- Maintain accurate records of Enhanced Due Diligence
- Manage Business Unit mailboxes for client screenings
- Execute other relevant duties as assigned

Qualification

- Relevant tertiary qualification

- Previous experience in Anti-Money Laundering or Compliance Management is beneficial

Experience

- Minimum of 2 years experience in Anti-Money Laundering within the Financial services industry
- Exposure to Epsilon, Sentrix, and Legacy systems is advantageous
- Familiarity with screening tools (SIRON) is a plus

Knowledge

- Understanding of compliance monitoring processes
- Knowledge of products and services in the financial services industry

Knowledge and Skills

Shows comprehension of business procedures and reported incidents. Gathers detailed information on reported complaints to support investigations while ensuring caller anonymity. Responsible for managing incoming calls from anonymous informants professionally. Demonstrates good judgement regarding the urgency and sensitivity of received information. Proficient in data analytics and reporting.
