Legal Bookkeeper

A boutique law firm known for their commitment to excellence and client satisfaction is looking for an experienced and versatile Bookkeeper to join them and thrive within this role.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Manage accounts payable and receivable, including billing and collections processes.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and maintenance of budgets, providing financial insights to support decisionmaking.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Trust Accounting: Handle trust accounts in compliance with legal regulations and internal policies.
- Payroll Processing: Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for attorneys and staff.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized and uptodate financial records and documentation.
- Compliance: Stay abreast of legal and regulatory changes affecting accounting practices in the legal industry.
- Collaboration: Work closely with attorneys and administrative staff to address financial matters and support firm operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably within a legal environment.
Proficiency in LegalSuite a must:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
- Understanding of legal accounting principles and trust accounting regulations.
- Location: Successful incumbent will be based in Cape Town (Northern Suburbs).
