About the role


This role is part of the management of the Africa commercial operations and distributor excellence team that supports order management via BDs European Distribution Centers while working in collaboration with regulatory, quality, technical service departments as well as all BUs.

This role is responsible for processing quotations and orders, logistics coordination, customer query handling, price list maintenance, tracking of customer order status and the coordination of distributor excellence activities.


Main responsibilities will include:

  • Work with Operations Specialists and Sales and Marketing Assistants to analyse technical specifications, develop project timelines, and submit tender offers/proposal requests for all identified tenders. Collate all documents within required deadlines to be included in the offer.
  • Ensure accurate completion of tender documents, liaise with Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Strategic Manager, Business Leaders, Commercial Operations, Credit Control, Order Fulfillment and ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance to of tender specifications and general terms.
  • Maintain Tender Tracker/ Register Archive (electronic and physical copies). Take note of expiry dates and ensure that BD is ready for new submission and extensions.
  • Track tender performance against SLA and volumes consumption, proactively highlight performance gaps and work closely with BU leaders in place counter measures.
  • Perform market research and gather tender insights and intelligence and maintain a database of tenders available in the market.
  • Driving continuous improvement in the tender management process and consequently facilitating and driving improved commercial decision making. Work with Business Analysts to perform analytics on tender performance, SLA, KPI and Dashboards. Prepare insights and share with respective Business Leaders for decision making.
  • Build a database of turnkey service providers and gain an understanding of their project pipelines within the markets in which BD operates.
  • Maintain 3rd Party tender/ procurement portals with BD updated cooperate information.
  • Work with EMEA DE CoE to enhance BDWoDM Framework and deploy policies, SOP's and Tools in the Africa region.
  • Maintain DE databases and Tracker for the Africa Region.
  • Coordinate distributor life cycle management process in African including off/onboarding of distributors and Distributor Performance Management.
  • Together with the EMEA Distribution Excellence CoE, train Africa Commercial Teams on the BDWoDM.
  • Review Distribution Excellence dashboard for Africa and highlight key consideration to Business.

About you

  • A 3year bachelor's degree in commerce/ business administration or Similar
  • Min 3 years work experience in customer care operations/ commercial operations in African countries (Import & Export).
  • Previous experience as working with Tenders and Contracts/Service Level Agreements or similar.
  • Good understanding and communication in English.
  • Good communication and effec
