Responsibilities:

Content creation:

Write original technical news articles within the energy sector, covering topics such as energy production, renewable energy, emerging technologies, and industry trends.


Content curation:

Curate and commission additional articles from freelance and in-house writers, ensuring that content meets Energize's standards for accuracy, clarity, and relevance.


Editorial oversight:

Oversee the editorial process, including editing articles, fact-checking, production and ensuring adherence to Energize's editorial guidelines and style standards.


Collaboration:

Work closely with writers, contributors, and other editorial team members to develop engaging content that resonates with Energize's audience.


Research and analysis:

Stay informed about developments in the energy sector, conducting research and analysis to identify newsworthy topics and trends for coverage.


Quality assurance:

Ensure that all content meets Energize's editorial standards and is published on schedule according to the publication's editorial calendar.


Community engagement:

Engage with Energize's audience through networking, events, social media, and other channels, fostering a sense of community and encouraging discussion around energy-related topics.


Requirements:

Background in journalism:
A bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field is preferred.

Technical expertise:
Understanding of technical concepts related to energy production, renewable energy, and emerging technologies is preferred.

Writing skills:
Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information in an accessible and engaging manner.

Editing skills:
Strong editing skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to uphold editorial standards.

Deadline-oriented: Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Team player:
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Industry knowledge:
Familiarity with the energy sector and a passion for staying informed about industry developments and trends.

Communication skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with contributors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
