Energize - Deputy Editor

**Responsibilities**:
**Content creation**: Write original technical news articles within the energy sector, covering topics such as energy production, renewable energy, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
**Content curation**: Curate and commission additional articles from freelance and in-house writers, ensuring that content meets Energize's standards for accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
**Editorial oversight**: Oversee the editorial process, including editing articles, fact-checking, production and ensuring adherence to Energize's editorial guidelines and style standards.
**Collaboration**: Work closely with writers, contributors, and other editorial team members to develop engaging content that resonates with Energize's audience.
**Research and analysis**: Stay informed about developments in the energy sector, conducting research and analysis to identify newsworthy topics and trends for coverage.
**Quality assurance**: Ensure that all content meets Energize's editorial standards and is published on schedule according to the publication's editorial calendar.
**Community engagement**: Engage with Energize's audience through networking, events, social media, and other channels, fostering a sense of community and encouraging discussion around energy-related topics.

**Requirements**:
**Background in journalism**: A bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field is preferred.
**Technical expertise**: Understanding of technical concepts related to energy production, renewable energy, and emerging technologies is preferred.
**Writing skills**: Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information in an accessible and engaging manner.
**Editing skills**: Strong editing skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to uphold editorial standards.
**Deadline-oriented**: Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
**Team player**: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
